I have a lot of friends who are great musicians and entertainers who let me rock with them on special occasions. This page is a collection of some of the fun gigs I've played over the years with people outside of my other usual bands.
...Like that time I was in an awesome Beatles tribute band with David Alexander, Tim Keough and Mike Rugello. We played a bunch of great festivals to crowds full of true Beatles fans - a dream come true for me!
...Or that time when I wrote and performed a bunch of fun songs with Greg Cherone, in the funky acoustic duo, Soul Pilgrims.
The Dark Side of the Moon
...Or the time I played Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" in its entirety at a block party in Malden, MA. My former student, Nick Hames came up with the idea and played guitar, piano, and sang. His Uncle, Paul Soares played drums and sang. My longtime friend and musical cohort, Jenny Jones sang and brought her inimitable groove to the event. Nick's friend Cam McKenna played percussion and Jess Munroe played acoustic guitar. I played the bass and watched proudly as this crew rocked it out!
...Or the time I worked with Jenny's Tribe performing the Hollow Body Heal show at Arlington Cable Access. I got to play both acoustic and electric guitar, sing some sweet harmonies, plus pound a djembe and stroke a singing bowl! Meanwhile, Jenny Jones sang her songs as only she can, while playing piano or acoustic guitar or djembe and Suzanne Dzialo created some beautiful live art while dancing and playing rainsticks!
...And that time Jenny and I did a pretty sweet duet on "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen!
The Comedy of Michael Atkinson
...Or the times I have musically backed up my comedian friend, Michael Atkinson during his outrageous performance pieces.
